In-Office Procedures
YAG Laser Capsulotomy- A Laser is used to create an opening in the hazy capsule situated behind the IOL implant to allow you to see more clearly.
YAG Peripheral Iridotomy- Procedure for the treatment of Narrow Angle Glaucoma. The laser is used to make a microscopic hole in the iris (the colored part of the eye.) The hole (iridotomy) creates a "release valve" and creates an alternate channel for fluid to flow through the eye. The iridotomy decreases the risk of having angle closure and vision loss from glaucoma.
YAG Laser Vitreolysis- A highly effective, outpatient- based procedure, which involves the use of a nano-pulsed YAG laser to vaporize vitreous strands and opacities. It has low complications rate and offers a high degree of patient satisfaction. It can also delay or obviate the need for surgery.
Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty- SLT laser is used to treat glaucoma by reducing the pressure in the eye. It is used when eye drop medications are not lowering the eye pressure enough or are causing significant side effects. It can also be used as initial treatment for glaucoma.
Superficial Keratectomy- An in office procedure to treat some of the most common ocular surface diseases including recurrent corneal erosion and anterior basement dystrophy. The procedure removes defective surface cells from the cornea so that healthy replacement cells can heal in naturally.
Prokera - A cryopreserved amniotic membrane formed into a ring that is placed on the eye like a contact lens. It can be issued for many different conditions including corneal abrasions, herpectic ulcers, recurrent corneal erosion, keratitis, chronic dry eyes and more.
Chalazion Stye/Hordeolum- A chalazion is a common condition affecting the eyelid and is caused by a blockage of gland in the eyelid. A chalazion may resolve spontaneously or with warm compresses, lid scrubs, and lid massage. When there is no improvement, the chalazion may be incised and drained as a in-office procedure.
Entropion Repair- An inward turning of the lower eyelid where the skin and lashes rub against the cornea. An in-office procedure can be performed to re position the eyelid which will help improve irritation.
Punctal Plugs/ Lacrimal Plugs- Are tiny devices that can be used to help treat dry eye syndrome.
Radio-frequency Lesion Removal- Commonly used to remove lesions on the eyelid or around the eye that protrude above the surface of the skin. This procedure utilizes a device called the Ellman Radiosurgery Electrode Loop to gently shave the lesion away from the surface of the skin. The skin is cauterized at the same time as the device gently shaves the lesion. This procedure is the best option for evenness of skin texture, offering the doctor better control over the depth of the removal and reducing scaring.
